The Knapp building has long needed an addition to provide extra space and better access to those with mobility issues. Due to growth in the college and academy, the chapel and classroom spaces have reached close to their maximum capacity.

Often, for special events seating is unavailable for those who wish to attend. The addition will provide a foyer to the chapel and create extra classroom and office space on the upper levels that will help alleviate these issues.

Also, it will include an elevator to provide better access to students, alumni, and visitors with mobility challenges. Students with these challenges have experienced extreme difficulty due to the lack of easy access to the classrooms and dormitory.
